Location
ICS employees work in a predominantly remote work environment, but we would like this role to have the ability to physically report into our Downtown Vancouver, BC Canada office.

Our Practicum Student positions will be suited to a self-motivated, professional person who can confidently work with a variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds. Diplomacy, tact, exceptional communication skills and customer service are important to the success of this person. The goal of our practicum student program is for you to get the best experience possible and to gain as much exposure to the professional conference industry during your time with us. Onsite assistance at our local events may be required.
Responsibilities
Attendee Experience and Programme Practicum Student:
- Email correspondence with local and international delegates
- Assist Attendee Experience Managers with reports, checklists and system updates
- Assist with onsite preparations, including delegate badges and onsite materials.
- Support and assist setting up and managing online system for speaker abstract submission, review, scheduling, and notifications
- Communication with speakers and abstract presenters
- Coordinating speaker invitations and correspondence and tracking responses
- Supporting management of collection of all required speaker materials
- Supporting database management
- Supporting management of onsite experience for speakers
Conference Operations and Marketing Practicum Student:
- Assist Conference Managers with the development and execution of logistical plans and timelines for Conferences Database management
- Survey evaluation
- Preparing final presentations and reports
- Assist our Marketing Team with the development of marketing strategies
- Assist with the content management of project websites
- Assist with managing email marketing campaigns, including developing content/ graphics and design
- Set up and manage social media profiles and produce organic posts including images/ videos
- Support marketing reporting and analytics
- Develop and coordinate templated content for onsite materials and mobile app
Skills & Attributes
- Ability to communicate fluently in English is essential
- Computer literacy in a variety of software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Willingness to learn new software packages
- Ability to utilize the internet for research purposes and for sending email correspondence
- Experience using virtual platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams are a bonus, but not required
