Location
ICS employees work in a predominantly remote work environment, but we would like this role to have the ability to physically report into our Downtown Vancouver, BC Canada office.

Our Practicum Student positions will be suited to a self-motivated, professional person who can confidently work with a variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds. Diplomacy, tact, exceptional communication skills and customer service are important to the success of this person. The goal of our practicum student program is for you to get the best experience possible and to gain as much exposure to the professional conference industry as a whole during your time with us.
Responsibilities
Attendee Experience Practicum Student:
- Email correspondence with international delegates
- Assist Attendee Experience Managers with reports, checklists and system updates
- Assist with virtual production including pre-recordings for speakers and live day production (attendee experience chat forum assistance for example) or onsite preparations (when safe to do so)
Conference Operations Practicum Student:
- Assist Conference Managers with the development and execution of logistical plans and timelines for Conferences
- Abstract, Program and Speaker Management
- Virtual production of events including speaker recordings, and live day production
- Website updates – creating and updating website content
- Database management
- Survey evaluation
- Preparing final presentations and reports
- Social Media updates
- Preparation of final reports
Skills & Attributes
- Ability to communicate fluently in English is essential
- Computer literacy in a variety of software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Willingness to learn new software packages
- Ability to utilize the internet for research purposes and for sending email correspondence
- Experience using virtual platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams are a bonus, but not required
