Studio O is a space for creation and expression, dedicated to Afrofuturism and avant-garde artistic movements. It showcases works and initiatives from a community deeply aware of the connections between Afro-ancestral heritage and the digital world.

The Congo, with its profound influence on electronic culture, plays a crucial role in shaping both our present and future societies. Through Studio O, we aim to support and amplify this impact by developing our fundraising initiative for the Congo. Every exhibition, event, and gathering in this space is part of this mission.

We extend our gratitude to all the artists, creators, and lovers of art and culture who are embarking on this journey with us.

Internship Description

Are you a Bachelor’s or Master’s student in Business Administration? Join us at the ground level of an exciting startup aimed at making a significant impact. We are a passionate team of artists dedicated to establishing a non- profit organization focused on developing a creative project to empower identity in the Congo. This project is not just about business growth; it's about creating meaningful change in one of the world's most resource-rich yet challenging environments. We offer the possibility of an internship (3 month voluntary or 5-6 month mandatory internship), possibly in combination with a final thesis in our startup.

WHO WE ARE

  • Early Stage: We are at the very beginning of our journey, driven by a commitment to Afrocentric innovation and social impact.
  • Diverse Leadership: Our team consists of artists with a broad range of backgrounds, committed to creating sustainable and ethical business models.
  • Innovation Focused: We strive to develop models that go beyond traditional capitalism, valuing ethical considerations as much as commercial viability.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Dynamic Role: Interns will participate in business planning, strategy development, and foundational accounting processes.
  • Real-World Impact: Opportunities to tackle real-world challenges and potentially write a thesis on relevant issues faced by our project.
  • Career Pathway: Interns have the potential for long-term employment following a successful internship.

INTERNSHIP DETAILS

  • Scope: We are open to involving both Bachelor’s and Master’s students in Business Administration.
  • Duration and Type:
    • Voluntary Internships: 3 months, ideal for gaining initial exposure and experience.
    • Mandatory Internships: 5-6 months, which can be aligned with the practical phase required by Bachelor’s programs in their 6th semester.
  • Thesis Opportunity: There is also the possibility for students, particularly at the Master’s level, to combine their internship with writing their final thesis with us, subject to university regulations and requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate in drafting a comprehensive business plan.
  • Help establish and manage the non-profit organization, navigating financial resources and legal requirements (e.g., management of an existing UG with €5000).
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives and oversee accounting practices.

WHO WE ARE

  • A dynamic startup at its very beginning, driven by a commitment to Afrocentric innovation and social impact.
  • Led by a team with diverse backgrounds in the arts.
  • Focused on creating a model beyond capitalism that values ethical considerations and cultural values as much as commercial viability.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A chance to be part of a startup from the very beginning and see your impact grow.
  • An opportunity to write your master’s thesis with us on real-world challenges.
  • A role in business planning, strategy development, and foundational accounting processes, considering existing resources and legal responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master's program in Business Administration or related fields.
  • Interested in non-profit organizations and social entrepreneurship.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong sense of initiative and a hands-on approach.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in French and German is a plus.
  • Based in Berlin to work with us on site in the Studio (hybrid)
  • Please note: This is an unpaid internship position. However, it offers valuable experience in building a non-profit organization from scratch and the possibility to significantly impact the project through your master’s thesis.
